BITCODE
V3.0 Competition
The BITCODE V3.0
competition was organized for the third time by the Business Information Technology Student’s Association (BITSA) with
the Department of Information Systems, Faculty of Management Studies, Rajarata University
of Sir Lanka. The first BITCODE V1.0 competition had held in 2018. As a next
step, the BITCODE V2.0 competition was successfully completed in 2019 at the
inter-faculty level. What is special about this is that for the first time this
competition has been organized at the inter-university level and due to the
current Covid-19 pandemic, this time the competition was held on the online
platform.
Before the finals, a
pre-selection round was held for the students on the Faculty of Management
Studies, Rajarata University of Sri Lanka. Four teams selected from that round
were selected for the finals. A total of twelve teams had qualified for the
finals, along with four other teams. With the completion of all these
activities, the final contest of BITCODE V3.0 will be held on 27th January
2022.
A panel of knowledgeable
umpires was selected to judge this competition.
They are Mr. PG Munasinghe Head of the Department of Information
Systems, Dr. HMBP Ranaweera, Senior Lecturer of Department of Information Systems,
Mr. RMGH Rathnayaka, Lecturer of the Department of Information Systems, Mr.
Amith Bandara, Visiting Lecturer, and Software Engineer, and Mr. Chathuranga
Kasthuriarachchi, Senior Software Engineer. Following a fair trial, the winners
were eliminated from the competition.
The first place in the
competition was won by the BITPIRATES team of statics and computer science,
faculty of science, University of Peradeniya, the second place was won by the
SPEEDCODER team of the Department of Computer Science, Faculty of Applied
Science, Trincomalee campus the Eastern University of Sri Lanka and the third
place was won by the NOOB_SQUAD team of the department of information system,
faculty of Management Studies, Rajarata University of Sri Lanka.
